Description:
|
Blacksmithing is the art of working with heated metal. In this 1-day workshop, you'll discover the basics of blacksmithing and create your own decorative metal item or sculpture. You'll learn basic metallurgy & weld shop safety, how to cut metal, basic forging, and how to use blacksmithing tools, such as an anvil, hammer, tongs, and punch. You'll also practice skills such as drawing out, brazing, cutting, riveting, and upsetting. Note: students must wear leather boots or shoes and long denim pants for this class. Safety helmets, safety glasses, gloves and jackets will be provided for use during the class.
