Description: Interested in trying out welding? This introductory one-day workshop is a fun way to try your hand at garden art or other decorative iron pieces. No previous experience is required! In FRCC’s Welding Lab, our talented welding instructors will help you to discover the basics and apply your own artistic touch. You will learn basic metallurgy, welding with an oxyacetylene set up, welding with electric arc welders (GMAW, MIG), how to cut metal, and basic forging. You will create your own artistic project,incorporating the methods that you’ve learned. Note: students must wear leather boots or shoes & long denim pants for this class. Safety helmets, safety glasses, gloves and jackets will be provided for use during the class.
