Beginners as well as experienced artists are welcome to take this new half-day workshop! Join instructor Susan Dailey as you explore composition, determining a focal point, effects of atmosphere on creating an illusion of depth, creating a sense of light, general drawing, sketching and painting techniques, how to work from a photo without copying, and resources for getting in tune with your inner creativity. Disposable palettes and painting medium will be provided. You will need to bring a selection of landscape photos (and/or photos of objects you would like to put in a landscape) to use as resource photos for your painting, a cup for water, and appropriate clothes for painting. Note: A $30 painting kit and instructional handout are included in the cost of the class. The kit includes: a set of 18 tubes of acrylic paint, a selection of 6 brushes, a sepia-tinted 9"x12" canvas panel, a viewfinder, and a pencil.
