Category: Personal Development
Class Number: PERS 1024-601
Class Name: Home Maintenance for the Novice - Workshop Series Discount Bundle
Cost: $199.00
Course Classification: Personal Enrichment
Description: So you just bought your first house - now what? Sure, it could use a new coat of paint, or two, but what about hanging curtains or patching that hole someone punched in the wall? Then there's the electrical outlet that you plug the coffee maker into and the plug keeps sliding out! There are so many things a house needs to be functional, let alone a home. Rather than spending money to have someone come in and fix those little odds and ends, this new 3-part series of hands-on workshops will help you learn to do it yourself! Over the course of 5 weeks, you will explore: hand tool basics, simple battery-operated tools, patching drywall, hanging things on the wall, filters and smoke detectors, plumbing basics, electrical basics, topics of student choice (depending upon liability issues), home maintenance checklist development, and we'll wrap it up with a trip to a local home improvement store. Enrolling in this discounted bundle (PERS 1024.601), rather than enrolling in each part of the workshop series individually, will save you $58. However, if you want to take only the parts that cover topics of interest to you, you may enroll in PERS 1020.601 (Part 1), PERS 1021.601 (Part 2) or PERS 1022.601 (Part 3) separately.
