Description:
|
Enhance your sense of "seeing" and creative expression with B&W imagery for more visual impact using a digital camera and the "digital darkroom". This new class workshop covers the elements of great B&W images and how to apply practical tone & texture concepts simplified from the "Zone System" to liberate a more satisfying understanding and expressive control over exposure with a DSLR. Class projects will provide an opportunity to setup and work with your camera in class and around campus. Practice step-by-step digital darkroom conversion methods for creative enhancement of B&W images. Please bring your DSLR camera + manual + its USB cable, and a USB flash drive with a couple of your images for practice. Recommended text: John Beardsworth, Advanced Digital Black and White Photography, Lark Books Illex Press, 2007 (on Amazon.com). Requirements and prerequisites: DSLR camera, computer literacy, intermediate knowledge of photography basics. Instructor: Bruce Breshears.
